천하사 일꾼의 심법
1 이어 천지대신문을 여시고 사람 수효를 삼십삼천 수(三十三天數)로 채우신 뒤에 성도들에게 말씀하시기를

2 “이제 만일 일을 당하여 순검이나 병정이 들어오는 것을 보고 겁을 내어 도망할 마음이 있는 자는 다 돌아가라.

3 열 사람이 있다가 한 사람만 도망하여도 아홉 사람은 그 해를 입어 죽게 되리니

4 도망할 마음을 두는 자는 미리 돌아가고, 마음을 지켜 도망하지 않을 자는 굳은 다짐을 해 두라.

5 천하사(天下事)를 하는 자는 위태로움에 들어서서 편안함을 얻고, 죽음에 들어서서 삶을 얻는 것이니

6 일을 하는 자는 화지진(火地晋)도 해야 하느니라.” 하시니라.

7 이에 성도들이 “삼가 마음을 굳게 지켜 변함이 없겠나이다.” 하고 다짐하니 남은 사람은 모두 스물한 명이더라.

8 이때 성도들은 상제님의 조화권능을 익히 알고 있으므로 혹은 ‘선생님이 계신데 무엇이 무서우리오.’ 생각하고

9 혹은 ‘무슨 화란이 있으리오. 이는 필시 우리들을 시험하는 말씀일 것이라.’고 생각하니라.

The Mindset of Heaven and Earth’s Workers
1 Sangjenim then opened heaven and earth’s great gate of the spirit realm. He selected thirty-three disciples, one for each of the thirty-three heavens, but cautioned them,

2 “If any of you believe that you might flee in fear when confronted by policemen or soldiers, you should return to your homes now.

3 If there are ten people and one runs away, the other nine suffer injury and death.

4 Those who fear that they will flee, leave now; those who choose to remain, steel yourselves.

5 Those who carry out the work of heaven and earth gain peace in the face of crisis and gain life in the face of death.

6 Those conducting the work should even stride through fire.”

7 And so, the disciples pledged, “We will remain resolute and not waver in the slightest.” The disciples who chose to stay numbered twenty-one.

8 Knowing of Sangjenim’s power of creation-transformation, some thought, “When our Teacher is with us, what is there to fear?”

9 Others thought, “What difficulties could we possibly encounter? Surely, our Teacher must be testing us.”
