Single-heartedly Seek to Attain Enlightenment into the Mind

일심으로 심통하라

Taemonim one day commanded of Her disciples,

하루는 성도들에게 말씀하시기를 

“You must all single-heartedly seek to attain enlightenment into the mind.”

“ 너희들은 오직 일심一心으로 심통心通하라 하시니라.”

Taemonim then proclaimed, 

또 말씀하시기를 

“When the true lineage is raised on high, all will follow.

”올바른 줄 하나 치켜들면 다 오느니라.

It is your Father and I who bring order to the world, 

평천하平天下는 너희 아버지와 내가 하리니

so you must hold fast to the true lineage of governing the world.”

너희들은 치천하治天下줄이나 꼭 잡고 있으라 하시고.” 

Taemonim also declared, 

또 말씀하시기를 

“Never ceasing to care for the dao household 

“도道살림도 그침없이 

and never ceasing to care for your own household, 

제 살림도 그침없이,

you must advance ever onward without falling by the wayside.”

끈 떨어지지 말고 나아가거라 하시니라 .” .

“Forsake struggling for status, and instead earnestly cultivate and purify yourself.

자리다툼하지 말고 잘 닦으라. 

The commotion in your five viscera brings ruination to your life—

제 오장五臟 제 난리에 제 신세를 망쳐 내니

without learning and cultivation, 

보고 배운 것 없이 

there is nothing but a senseless commotion in your five viscera, 

쓸데없는 오장난리 

a senseless deceit, a senseless futility.

쓸데없는 거짓지기 쓸데없는 허망치기로다 , . 

On that fateful day when you beat your breast with stones in despair and so perish, 

잘못된 그날에 제 복장 제가 찧고 죽을 적에 

there will not be enough stones on the street for everyone.” 

앞거리 돌멩이가 모자라리라.
