The Destiny of Mutual Conflict and Domination in the Early Heaven

선천은 상극(相克)의 운

“The Early Heaven is ruled by the destiny of mutual conflict and domination.

선천은 상극(相克)의 운(運)이라

The principle of mutual conflict and domination has governed all humanity and all existence,

상극의 이치가 인간과 만물을 맡아

and so heaven and earth have never known a single moment free of war.

하늘과 땅에 전란(戰亂)이 그칠 새 없었나니

Therefore, bitterness and grief now fills all the world.

그리하여 천하를 원한으로 가득 채우므로

As the destiny of mutual conflict and domination is about to be brought to an end,

이제 이 상극의 운을 끝맺으려 하매

colossal catastrophes threaten to erupt all at once, annihilating the human world.

큰 화액(禍厄)이 함께 일어나서 인간 세상이 멸망당하게 되었느니라.

If all the bitterness and grief born of mutual conflict and domination were allowed to explode,

상극의 원한이 폭발하면

the universe itself would collapse into ruin.

우주도 무너져 내리느니라.

“And so, the spirits of heaven and earth, filled with dismay and compassion, yearned to deliver

humanity,

이에 천지신명이 이를 근심하고 불쌍히 여겨 구원해 주고자 하였으되

but they were without any means to do so;

아무 방책이 없으므로

thus, they ultimately journeyed to the ninth heaven and entreated Me to deliver humanity.

구천(九天)에 있는 나에게 호소하여 오매

I, unable to refuse them, descended into this world.

내가 이를 차마 물리치지 못하고 이 세상에 내려오게 되었느니라.

“I will now avert all the impending colossal catastrophes through the use of minor misfortunes

그러므로 이제 내가 큰 화를 작은 화로써 막아 다스리고

and bring forth the Immortal Paradise of Creation-Transformation.”

조화선경(造化仙境)을 열려 하노라.
