My Dao Is the Supreme Dao of Mutual Life-Bettering and Life-Saving

나의 도는 상생의 대도

My dao is the supreme dao of mutual life-bettering and life-saving.

나의 도는 상생(相生)의 대도이니라.

“People have sought riches and renown in contests of authority and force throughout the

Early Heaven, for such is the Early Heaven’s way of mutual conflict and domination.

선천에는 위무(威武)로써 승부를 삼아 부귀와 영화를 이 길에서 구하였나니, 이것이 곧 상극의 유전이라.

I will bring forth the Later Heaven and its destiny of mutual life-bettering and life-saving

내가 이제 후천을 개벽하고 상생의 운을 열어

to build a world in which goodness is the way of life.

선(善)으로 살아가는 세상을 만들리라.

All nations will live by mutual life-bettering and life-saving;

만국이 상생하고

men and women will live by mutual life-bettering and life-saving;

남녀가 상생하며

and superiors and subordinates, in harmony with one another,

윗사람과 아랫사람이 서로 화합하고

will faithfully conduct their proper duties in accordance with their stations.

(위사람과 아랫사람이) 분수에 따라 자기의 도리에 충실하여

Consequently, all virtues will return to their origin,

모든 덕이 근원으로 돌아가리니

and the world will become a realm of sublime benevolence and sublime righteousness.”

대인대의(大仁大義)의 세상이니라.

The Early Heaven has been an age of conquerors

선천 영웅시대에는

in which people have sustained themselves with sin,

죄로 먹고 살았으나

but the Later Heaven will be an age of sages

후천 성인시대에는

in which people will sustain themselves with goodness.

선으로 먹고살리니

Which will endure longer, the way of sin or the way of goodness?

죄로 먹고사는 것이 장구하랴, 선으로 먹고사는 것이 장구하랴.

I have established dosu.

이제 도수(度數)를 짜 놓았노라.

that will allow the people of the Later Heaven to sustain themselves with goodness.

후천 중생으로 하여금 선으로 먹고 살

Authoritarian ways prevailed in the Early Heaven,

선천은 위엄으로 살았으나

but laughter will prevail in the Later Heaven.

후천 세상에는 웃음으로 살게 하리라.
